The beginnings of a family house.
In the Tuscan countryside, Pilade Buti began his artisan career making chestnut baskets trimmed with leather and woven leather objects. After the material shortages of the war years, the revival of leatherworking opened new possibilities for his craft.
He brought together artisans trained in Florence. When the business moved to Cascine di Buti, some stayed in the homes of Pilade and his brother, sharing meals with the family as they helped build the house.
It is a history of craft, but also of people: knowledge shared, relationships formed and work carried forward within a family.

Sheena discovered BUTI by chance during her jewellery studies.
A conversation with Amerigo led to a visit to the family’s atelier, where she met his father, founder Pilade Buti.
She was drawn to the family’s warmth and the importance they placed on quality. Seeing a craft carried across generations gave her a personal reason to trust the house. Its heritage became more than a history to read. It became a connection to the people continuing it.
